Antique Candle Co.

Our chapter had the privilege of visiting the Antique Candle Co. factory here in Lafayette. We got a tour of the entire operating process and got to talk with Brittany Whitenack who is the owner, Purdue alumni, and a Kappa Omega Delta Sigma Pi alumni! Career Fair Prep with Purdue Alumni

Our chapter had an incredible opportunity to hear from Purdue alumni in-person and online. We got to hear about their unique experiences across many different fields and their best tips on navigating a career fair and how to stand out. Thank you to our Fall 2024 VP of Alumni Relations Katherine Cheh and our VP of Professional Activities Brendan Gleim for putting this event together!

Wabash Company Tour

Members of our fraternity were given the chance to visit the Wabash factory in Lafayette. They got to learn about day-to-day operations and get a tour of the facility. They also got to see where some of our brothers worked this summer! Big thank you to our Fall 2024 VP of Professional Activities Brendan Gleim for making this possible!

West Monroe Case Workshop with Jeremy Anderson

Our chapter had an excellent opportunity to host Jeremy Anderson from West Monroe. Brothers got to learn about West Monroe’s corporate culture and learn how to approach case study interviews. Brothers then went through a mock case study where we were able to work together to find the best solution with the new tips we learned from Jeremy. Thank you Ashling McNaughton, our Spring 2024 VP of Professional Activities, for putting on an amazing workshop.

Faculty Poker Night

Our chapter partnered with PAA to host a faculty poker night. Students and faculty were able to socialize with each other while playing different games and even got the chance to win their own poker set! A huge thank you to PAA, all the faculty who stopped by, and our very own Spring 2024 VP of Alumni Relations, Emeline Papp.

Nuclear Reactor Tour

A few of our brothers had the honor to tour the nuclear reactor here at Purdue University. Our brothers learned how a nuclear reactor works, the different research projects Purdue has worked on, and be able to chat with current students who are certified to operate it. Thank you to our Spring 2024 VP of Professional Activities, Ashling McNaughton, for setting up this awesome opportunity!

Faculty Coffee Chat

Our chapter held it’s first faculty coffee chat this spring semester, coordinated by our Spring 2024 VP of Alumni Relations, Emeline Papp. Brothers and faculty were able to chat about the business school and personal experiences while enjoying donuts and coffee on the second floor of Rawls. Thank you to all the faculty who were able to stop by.

Etiquette Dinner

Our chapter was able to hold it’s first etiquette dinner this spring semester with the amazing work from our past VP of Professional Activities Anthony Dimmitt. We were able to increase our professionalism and learn more about business manners at the table. A big thank you to Dr. Stephen Leitch for presenting and providing us all the necessary tools to be better professionals.

Backpack to Briefcase

Our chapter engaged in a fantastic discussion with Robin Murphy, a 2022 Purdue University alumna from the Gamma Delta pledge class. During our conversation, she offered valuable perspectives on navigating the sudden shift from college life to the professional world. Additionally, she reminisced about her cherished moments in DSP and offered advice to our recently initiated brothers.

Subaru Tour

A few of our brothers had the incredible opportunity to visit Subaru of Indiana Automotive, gaining an immersive firsthand experience of the intricate supply chain operations that power the company. The tour was immensely enjoyable, and we eagerly anticipate the possibility of returning for another insightful visit!

Personal Finance Workshop with Jim Schrader

Our chapter had the distinct honor of hosting Jim Schrader, the Senior Vice President of Asset Management at Morgan Stanley. The occasion was marked by a captivating discussion that delved into the nuances of investor psychology, the art of determining the opportune moments to enter or exit the ever-fluctuating market, masterful insights on timing the market, and the art of effectively stewarding a portfolio. As the grand finale, our gathering was graced with the wisdom of Jim on personal finance, delivering a wealth of invaluable knowledge to all in attendance. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jim for generously sharing his treasure trove of tips and tricks, and enlightening our chapter with his profound wisdom and experience.

Professional Workshop with Patrick Mosher

We had the pleasure of having a conversation and learning more about Patrick Mosher, an extremely passionate individual with a variety of unique backgrounds. He graciously shared invaluable insights on how to succeed early in our professional journeys. With his fervor and expertise, he unveiled the secrets to professional triumph and furnished us with the indispensable tools of leadership, empowering us to shine amidst fierce competition. Azzip Pizza - Brad Niemeier CEO

Our chapter hosted a conversation with Brad Niemeir, the CEO of Azzip Pizza, who founded the company in 2014 after winning an entrepreneurship contest during his time at Purdue University. He received a generous $20,000 prize, which laid the foundation for his thriving business. Today, Azzip Pizza boasts ten locations spanning Indiana and Kentucky. During the event, our DSP brothers had the opportunity to pose questions to Brad, gaining invaluable insights into his entrepreneurial journey. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Brad for sharing his inspiring story with us.

Alumni Panel

In April, our Spring 2023 VP of Alumni Relations Matt Russell, organized an Alumni Panel event to learn more about their experiences in DSP and how they got to where they are now! Our chapter got to ask many questions and gained insightful answers about career opportunities, difficulties, and advice they gave us while we were still in college. Thank you, Kendell Abrams, Spencer Abrams, Nathan Lyons, Ashley Troy, and Megan Hostetler, for your time!

Caterpillar Comapny Tour

Our Spring 2023 VP of Professional Activities, Natasha Scarlett, got DSP the opportunity to tour Caterpillar Inc. in West Lafayette, IN. This plant utilizes several employees and robots along hundreds of assembly lines to produce massive locomotive, marine, and construction vehicle engines. The organization of engine variability in cooperation with efficiency along these assembly lines made an incredible hands-on learning experience for our members.
